Frequently Asked Questions

What are your specialties and focuses?

I have a special passion for working with LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse individuals.

I support clients in navigating anxiety, depression, identity development, life transitions, and trauma, including PTSD and complex PTSD. I have specialized training and extensive experience working with survivors of domestic violence and abuse.

I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, offering both individual and relational therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs.

What types of therapy do you do?

My primary approach is a mix of talk-therapy modalities, including:

  • Attachment Theory

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy

  • Humanistic and Person-Centered approaches

  • Psychodynamic methods

  • Mindfulness and Somatic Tools

I incorporate a client’s intersectional and systemic barriers to wellness into my conceptualization.

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions are 50-55 minutes and are tailored to you – your concerns, your pace, and what you need most that day. Some clients prefer a structured, guided approach, while others find it more helpful to lead the conversation themselves. I adapt to what works best for you, and that may shift over time.

I also check in regularly about how therapy is feeling, whether it’s helping, what’s working, and what might need adjusting. Your feedback shapes our work together.

How long does therapy take to work?

Therapy doesn’t follow a fixed timeline. Some people come for a focused stretch of sessions to work through a specific challenge, while others benefit from longer-term support. The right pace depends on your history, goals, and what you’re navigating in your life right now. We’ll check in regularly to make sure our work together is still meeting your needs.

Finding the right therapist is a lot like any meaningful relationship: some connections click naturally, and others don’t. If at any point you feel I’m not the right fit, I’ll support your transition and connect you with referrals. What matters most is that you’re getting the support that works for you.

What are your qualifications?

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I’ve been working with clients since 2020 and became fully licensed in 2024.

My experience spans several types of mental health care – from residential dual-diagnosis treatment to community mental health and private practice – which has given me a broad foundation for working with a wide range of people and concerns.
